So you’ve decided to go camping for the 1st time. Whether you’re camping alone or with the family, there are going to be a few things you need to know before you whip the tent manual out. From the types camping to the best places for camping, part one of this blog post will give you all the info you need for choosing that awesome camping spot.
Type of camping grounds:
Resorts: These are the family friendly bush themed camp sites with entertainment/enjoyment facilities like spas, swimming pools and parks.
Camp Sites: ;The standard camping ground with essential facilities.
Bush Camps: A camping ground with basic facilities like long drop toilets and cold showers. Usually quite far from civilisation
Back backers Campsite: A camping area overfed to travelling backpackers. Usually close to backpack lodges.
Great places for camping:
Limpopo is known to be a great place for a full camping experience.
Pros: A lot of the good campsites are close to the Kruger National Park; great for birdwatchers; 1000 strong buffalo herd at the Tsendze Rustic Camp Site.
Cons: The good camping spots in the province have no access to electricity, shops or restaurants.
Tsendze in Limpopo
Pros: Many camps sites in KZN combine the bush and beach experience with site close to the warm Indian ocean waters. The Big 5 population can be viwed hear.
Cons: Many camp sites in the province have no access to essential facilities. A some of them are a bit pricey.
Camp Vidal Camp Site in KwaZulu Natal
Pros: Visitors have a chance to make use of the province’s uncrowded and quite camp sites. Rare bird population.
Cons: Not ideal for those wanting the complete camping experience.
Dwesa Nature Reserve Camp Site Eastern Cape
