When can I
expect my order?

You’ve now decided you want operate as commercial drone pilot. The first step is getting your Remote Pilots License (RPL) from ProWings. You would then need your Air Service License (ASL)  and then your Remote Operators Certificate from the Civil Aviation Authority.

 There are two parts namely 2 weeks of Theory Training, followed by Practical Training.

 Once you have passed the Theory Examinations and have the Practical Skills you are ready to be assessed by an Instructor.

 If you are found to be competent in all aspects of the practical skills test, the CFI may write a Letter of Recommendation (LOR), for “Check Out” by a Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) Designated Flight Examiner (DFE).

 In order to obtain a Remote Pilot Licence (RPL) the successful completion of the following is required:

  1.     i.            75% or above score in the RPL theory exams
  2.     ii.            Meeting the standard required for the skills training to obtain the Instructors Letter of Recommendation
  3.     iii.            Meeting the standard required by the Designated Flight Examiner

 Basic requirements:

  • Over 18,
  • Class 4 Aviation Medical
  • Restricted Radio Telephony Licence
  • English Language Proficiency Level 4 or Above

 **We can arrange the required Medical, Language Proficiency and Radio Telephony. These are charged out separately.

Mock exams are given at the end of each subject.
